Think Funding: Schools, Colleges, Cities and Counties

Welcome to the first edition of the William Berry Campaigns newsletter.

We're a campaign and communications firm based in Sacramento. We've had the good luck to work with over 80 school districts, community colleges, cities, counties and local governments in getting local funding measures passed and getting their messages out.

In each newsletter we'll be highlighting people and issues involved in funding and running local government.

If there are things you'd like to hear about, let us know. We'd like to add more voices to the mix.

WBC gets a new VP

L
eslie Larrabee recently joined William Berry Campaigns as their Vice President/Chief Operating Officer from her position as Dean of Economic Development for the Chabot-Las Positas Community College District.

In her role at the college district she was able to combine her understanding of the business climate, the need for flexible, dynamic solutions to workforce development issues, and strong marketing skills to position and promote the community college system as an integral part of the regional workforce development system. Her business development skills were critical in the successful turnaround of her department, taking it from a deficit position to one of the highest performing centers in the State in a little less than three years.

Prior to her work with the college district, Ms. Larrabee worked in the private sector as a business development and marketing executive in the Silicon Valley. She worked for Hewlett-Packard Company and Tandy Corporation, before starting her own marketing consulting firm working with companies like Hewlett-Packard, Palm Computing, 3Com, Ingres and Computer Associates.

Her responsibilities as COO for WBC range from strategic planning, budget development, supervision of staff and overall organizational management, to providing direction and support of the company’s business development efforts.

Ms. Larrabee graduated from CSU Sacramento with a BA in Liberal Arts, and received her Masters Degree in Organization Development from the University of Phoenix.

Bottle Rockets

W
e find ourselves struggling to wrap our minds and arms around how to elect candidates and get ballot measures passed in an age where traditional marketing techniques work less and less.

We're working on the fundamental issue of how to get our clients remembered by the voters.

WBC recommends that our clients come up with a Big Idea - a Bottle Rocket; one that people will want to tell their families, friends and neighbors about.

It really is greener

A
fter many happy years at 1409 R Street, we're finally moving. We've had so much expansion and so many campaigns to run lately that we simply outgrew our old digs.

So, as of January 15th, you will find us at 808 R Street Suite 201, Sacramento CA, 95814. Yes, it's the same street, and yes, we could almost carry our desks to the new place it's so close. We're excited about the move and know that we will better serve our customers from the new building.

Our phone number will remain the same.
